Jean Foyer defends his hydrogen production model in Sarthe (72) at the conference on Sustainable Business Models in Circular Bioeconomy on Monday 23 September 2019 in Brussels.
Mareil-en-Champagne, the 19 September 2019
As part of the Circular Economy Action Plan initiated in 2015 by the European Commission, the Permanent Representation of Slovenia organizes a meeting to present projects, business models, private/public partnerships, as well as examples of good practice in the circular economy based in particular on biomass.
It is during this meeting that Jean Foyer will intervene to talk about his idea of producing hydrogen from the biomass available at Rented (72). This demonstration will take place from 11 a.m. and is called : "Hydrogen produced in a circular economy : an application of the bioeconomy at the service of people and territories ”.
Very soon, Jean Foyer's project aims to set up a technical demonstrator for the production of methane and hydrogen, in particular from fallow plants and farm animal waste. The objective is to produce this biogas in Loué, from locally available material. The manufacturing process by gasification also ensures that no residue is produced that would not be recoverable..
This is all the difference between gray hydrogen, fossil fuel based, and green hydrogen, rewarding the biomass. End products are methane, hydrogen, CO2 and fertilizer. They will be available for priority use by nearby farmers and ranchers..
The biogas production unit is thus the processor at the centers of human activities in the countryside., guaranteeing autonomy and energy independence to the territories.
