Last February, Mathieu Tison chose to put his luggage near his father’s farm, taken over by his older brother in Dangeul. A 30 years, he runs a farm 72 hectares under wheat cultivation, but, potatoes and hemp. That's not all. Mathieu also owns three Loué chicken coops. Each of his chickens has its name on its label., same for eggs. Voluntary, he describes his intention to move the lines.

Why did you choose to become a farmer?

I became a farmer out of passion. It’s a beautiful job to feed the population. I would also like to change things. Right now, we hear a lot about farmers. We are on the front line of everything relating to the ecological transition. I want to show that we are actors of change and capable of leading an agriculture that takes the future into account.

Why become a partner of Qairos Energies ?

For these same reasons. And I also wanted to diversify my crop rotation, cultivated spaces and lengthen my rotations.

What is the added value of hemp for you?

This year will be the first. A priori, I know that it is a good precedent for wheat, particularly because it cleans the plots. From an ecological point of view, it requires no treatment and little fertilizer. And in my opinion, it makes sense to reintroduce hemp there. If you walk around the area, you will see several stone hemp ovens. My grandfather was even a member of a hemp union. I walk in his footsteps.
