Discover in this video Jean Foyer's explanations on how to create a hydrogen sector that is truly at the service of people and the environment. This biomass will be used to power the pilot green hydrogen production site, built have second semesters 2020 on the Le Mans metropolitan area.

Synthetic hydrogen and methane from the gasification of hemp: a unique process in Europe
The hemp is crushed and heated at very high temperatures. The heat transforms it into gas from which methane can be extracted., hydrogen and carbon dioxide. This process is non-polluting and waste-free.. Each gas extracted is then resold. Synthetic methane is injected into the GRDF gas network. Hydrogen is converted into electricity in fuel cells for vehicles, for example. And the CO2, produced locally and green, is sold to the food industry.

Hydrogen yes, but truly green and at the service of the territories !
This industrial site for the production of green biogas will be at the center of an ecosystem for the local production of renewable energies from resources located within a radius of 35 km.
150 farmers of the Fermiers de Loué cooperative are ready to cultivate, from April 2021, the crop head, for an area of 350 hectares the first year.

The site, whose construction will begin in the second half of the year 2020, will make it possible to launch gas production at the start of the year 2022. The first harvest, mid-August, will be used to finalize the industrialization tests.
This innovative and non-polluting process is supported by the Pays de la Loire Region, BPI France and the Le Mans Sarthe metropolitan center.
For the Metropolitan Pole
It is integrated into the heart of the ECOH2 territorial project, which appears in the climate-energy plan initiated by Stéphane Le Foll, mayor of Le Mans and president of the Le Mans Sarthe metropolitan center.
For the Pays de la Loire region
This innovative project is also part of the hydrogen plan of the Pays de la Loire Region, who plans to invest 70 million euros in the development of initiatives around the uses of this gas throughout the region.
In December 2019, a Territorial Climate Air Energy Plan (PCAET) was approved in the territory of the Metropolitan Pole and an Energy Transition Contract (CTE) was signed between the Pole, the state, the Pays de la Loire Region and the Sarthe Department, committing them to a three-year action program which includes the ECOH2 hydrogen ecosystem project.
Following the logic of energy transition desired by Stéphane Le Foll, the Le Mans Sarthe metropolitan center will present by the end 2020 his candidacy for Territoires d’industrie (OF), another national program supported by the State and the Region.
This candidacy was called for by Louis-Jean de Nicolaÿ, senator from Sarthe, and member of the board of directors of the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion (ANCT) believing that the development of Industrial and Territorial Ecology (EIT) and the production of non-fossil energies have their place within Territories of Industry.
